YOU WERE CREATED FOR MUCH MORE

Have you ever thought about the source of your true happiness? Well I have, and I discovered the source of my true happiness comes from fulfillment of my God-given assignment, anytime I do something for the under privileged, I am always excited, I can be involved in activities with less privileged from morning till night without food, and not feel it, yes; such that days after the event, when I reminisce what happened, I am always glad I did that, and look forward to doing more of that. This is your true source of happiness and should be guided and developed to maturity, by that you won’t have any bad day at all. Someone may say but you need money, as you can’t carry out any successful vision without it; well while you are right, I bet to disagree, vision is what can put the money you need right in your hand, “vision lays a demand on resources”. No matter what sector, establishment or company you are working for right now be it banking, oil, NGO, communication etc, if it’s not owned by you, then you are working for another man’s vision and helping him/her grow it, irrespective of whatever amount you are being paid right now, the owner’s vision is putting money into his/her pocket and from that abundance, he or she is paying out the much or little you are getting as salary or allowances. And like my husband will always say, you can’t be greater than your employer working for him alone.

Someone may ask, I don’t seem to figure out what my vision or purpose is like, or what problem I am created to solve, fine; let’s do it this way, what is that negative thing you react to whenever you see or hear about, something that you say in your mind, if only I could have the opportunity, I will correct this thing, one clue is, most times, those things has to do with other people. It could be their way of life, leadership style, it could be better way you think something can be done or handled. These are clues to where your purpose and calling lies.

Whatever be your calling, whether business, drama, singing, dancing, networking, make sure you are an answer to someone else’s question, make sure you are solving problems, because it has become a proven fact that greater wealth lies with those who are solution providers.

A VIRTOUOS WOMAN/WIFE

Prov 31:10-14

A Wife of Noble Character

10  Who can find a virtuous and capable wife? She is more precious than rubies. 11 Her husband can trust her, and she will greatly enrich his life. 12 She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.

13 She finds wool and flax and busily spins it. 14 She is like a merchant's ship, bringing her food from afar. 15 She gets up before dawn to prepare breakfast for her household and plan the day's work for her servant girls. 16 She goes to inspect a field and buys it; with her earnings she plants a vineyard.
17 She is energetic and strong, a hard worker. 18 She makes sure her dealings are profitable; her lamp burns late into the night. 19 Her hands are busy spinning thread, her fingers twisting fiber. 20 She extends a helping hand to the poor and opens her arms to the needy. 21 She has no fear of winter for her household,

Prov 31:22-29

22 She makes her own bedspreads. She dresses in fine linen and purple gowns. 23 Her husband is well known at the city gates, where he sits with the other civic leaders. 24 She makes belted linen garments
and sashes to sell to the merchants.25 She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future. 26 When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness.
27 She carefully watches everything in her household and suffers nothing from laziness.

28 Her children stand and bless her. Her husband praises her: 29 "There are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all!"Prov 31:30-31

30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.
31 Reward her for all she has done.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE GIRL CHILD 2016

What is it?
International Day of the Girl is a UN initiative set up to promote the rights of girls around the world. Taking place every year on 11th October, it aims to highlight the realities of life as a girl across the globe and the challenges they face with regards to education, healthcare, child marriage, equal opportunity and sexual violence.
While not every girl in the world will face all of these challenges, but almost every girl will encounter at least one of them, which is why Day of the Girl is so important.

This year's theme is “Girls’ Progress = Goals’ Progress: A Global Girl Data Movement”, a call for action for increased investment in collecting and analysing girl-relevant and sex-dis-aggregated data.

A theme designed to highlight the fact that what is good for girls is also good for driving progress across society and ending poverty.
The data collected so far has highlighted some of the biggest issues facing girls all over the world, including:
  • One in three girls in developing countries (expect China) are married before 18
  • Childbirth is the number one killer of girls aged 15-19, with 50,000 deaths annually
  • 36 million primary school aged girls are not in school
  • A child is 50% more likely to survive past the age of five if she is born to a mother who can read
700 million women alive today were married before 18 and so UN Women works globally to change that.

So what does Day of the Girl actually do?
Despite half the population being female, women experience discrimination on a daily basis due to gender inequality. Feeling it the most are the 1.1 billion girls in the world.
One in three girls in developing countries get married before the age of 18, which usually means that they miss out on education, a career and are more vulnerable to physical and sexual violence.
But by stopping this, it won’t only help girls but families and communities too. This year’s theme is Girls’ Progress = Goals’ Progress –

The International Day of the Girl Child aims are to empower women, raise awareness on their rights and implement laws that will prohibit child marriage.

World renowned actress and Goodwill Ambassador Emma Watson visited Malawi, in southeastern Africa to bring awareness to the need to end child marriage. The visit provided Watson with a first-hand experience of the work that traditional leaders are doing to bring girls back to school and end child marriage:

How do I get involved?

Share the Light
Imagine not being allowed to go to school simply because you’re a girl. Well for 33 million girls, that’s a reality. And it shouldn’t be.

Spread the word
raise awareness or send out a few words of inspiration,

Take Action
Standing with the girl child actually goes beyond words of mouth, its an action, that begins with you and me, this you can do by simply doing any of this listed three;
1.Mentor a girl child,
2. Champion the education of a girl child,
3. Educate a Girl Child

When we empower girls, everybody benefits. Girls who are educated, healthy and free can transform their communities and pass on the benefits to their children, and to their children’s children.

Studies show that educated women have healthier children, who are more likely to live longer and attend schools themselves. Educating women is thus an important first step towards beating poverty and hunger.
