Go Back to Gospel Roots; Bishop T.D. Jakes to Toni Braxton and her Sisters

The bishop urged the Braxton sisters to go back to their gospel music roots while spiritually counseling the family through recent trials. 

"I want you to come back to your roots," said Jakes to Tamar, Toni, Trina, Towanda and Traci "Braxton Family Values, God gave you a voice! Sing! Sing something for me. Just take me back home for a minute." 

The sisters heeded Jakes' words and stood together to harmonize the Lord's Prayer.

The performance brought their mother to tears and elicited an inspirational response from Jakes.

"That's what families do," said Jakes to the Braxton sisters. "We can laugh and love, and lift each other up. That's how we survive. You can't stop doing that. I don't care who did what. You're still family."

The Braxtons come from a strong Christian background growing up with preacher parents.

Bishop TD Jakes has Comedian lined up for Mega-Fest 2015 event.

    While we have the likes of Seyi Law here in Nigeria performing in churches and another Christian comedian with Holy Mallam as stage name also Dr Sogo, Aboki for Christ just to mention few, even “mega super star” Marvin golden boy korede bello also have been accused to have released his latest single for “the church”. The senior pastor of The Potter’s House, Dallax, US TD Jakes has lined up a comedian as one of the performers in the most popular church event in the US tagged megafest. Her name is Comedian Sheryl Underwood, who co-hosts the CBS talk show "The Talk,"

Seasoned talent such as Christian comedian Akintunde Warnock, who has worked with the likes of actor Chris Tucker will also be on stage at the event.

Bishop TD Jakes has this to say about Megafest which is slated to hold next month Aug. 19-23. Jakes told CP in an interview.

“MegaFest is very, very dear to my heart because I think it creates an atmosphere that people of faith need,". "To come into an environment that is designed for people of faith that still has church and has worship and all of that, but also has fun — [such as] comedy shows so you can bring your kids or your grandmother too."

Also on the line up are world renowned televangelists like Joyce Meyer “Meyer and Caine, both leading figures in the evangelical world, will join the likes of Bishop Tudor Bismarck, R.A. Vernon, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan Williams and Jakes' wife, pastor Serita Jakes, at the three-day event.

An anti-gay marriage facebook post has put a Christian student under persecution in South Africa.

A Christian student at the University of Cape Town was forced out of her position at the institution after she posted a message on Facebook deemed "anti-gay marriage."

Commenting on the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling in that struck down all state-level gay marriage bans, Zizipho Pae, an economics and statistics major, was forced out of the Student Representative Council last week because she accused society of "normalizing sin."

After a meeting that included heated arguments, the university's student council voted 7 to 1 in favor of a motion to immediately remove Pae from her position, according to minutes posted online by the student group.

In her Facebook post, Pae wrote: "We are institutionalizing and normalizing sin! May God have mercy on us ...," Her comment garnered over 500 likes and more than 350 comments of varied opinions.

Chris Brown says he is tired of the devil ruining his life

 

In an Instagram post he shared with his fans, Brown said he thinks the average man would have committed suicide if he had to endure what he has to deal with on a daily basis and says he heard "God speak for the first time." here is what the young man said in his own words.

"People say 'be a man.' Yeah, that's right but it doesn't take away any pain you really go through. I just wanna stay out the way and do music. Most importantly and great father. I don't have any more patience for anything that will cause me to self destruct!!" Brown added.

The post has been liked 285,000 times on Instagram and elicited an outpouring of support from his fans many of whom concluded that they think God is calling him.

An Instagram user wordforthought1, who reveals on his profile page that he is "in love with God." wrote below lines to the troubled singer.
"You feel this way because your life does not match up with the Bible. You say you love God bro, but your actions do not prove it fam. Also you need accountability, there are not many people around you who tell you the truth about yourself, only what you want to hear. God has a plan for your life bro, but you must be willing to give up EVERYTHING. Not some things, everything. That's what he is calling you to do,"

Brown who is currently on tour and is expected to perform in Israel on Monday.

Popular singer Ciara harris’s Christian boyfriend insist on abstaining from sex until marriage.

A Christian  brother with Seattle Seahawks quarterback by name  Russell Wilson who is dating Ciara Harris, his singer girlfriend has insisted he has no regrets after publicly announcing his decision to follow God and refrain from sexual intercourse with her until marriage.
Russell Wilson response in an interview recently stated this.

"Do you regret the comments that you made when you did that video interview talking about the fact that you and Ciara have chosen not to have sex," Belle questioned Wilson at an Eat The Ball event. "That's something that was in the news nationally, internationally. Is that something you wish you never brought up?"

 Russell Wilson who is a christian stood by his public proclamation.

"No, I don't. I don't have any regret, no. I'm a blessed man, I'm very, very grateful."

The announcement however has received several harsh criticism, like CBS Chicago sports radio host Dan Bernstein from the show "Boers & Bernstein" implying that Wilson could be a homosexual.

For the remainder of his Q&A session with Belle, the Christian athlete decided to focus on his blessings.
"I'm very blessed, I'm grateful for all the opportunities I get to have. Obviously going to the ESPY's, but also being the host of the Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Sports Awards," Wilson responded
 "That was one of the coolest things I've ever done. So I am very, very grateful."

Hulk Hogan surrenders to God

The Pro-wrestler and former reality star Hulk Hogan says he's surrendered control of his life to God after his name was removed from all World Wrestling Entertainment media including its Hall of Fame, website and alumni. His merchandise can no longer be found and he's been terminated by the company.

"In the storm I release control, God and his Universe will sail me where he wants me to be, one love. HH," wrote Hulk Hogan via his Twitter handle.

The WWE made the decision after an audio clip from Hogan's 2012 sex tape was released by the National Enquirer where the wrestler uses the N-word.

On the tape, Hogan is discussing how a "black billionaire guy" offered to fund his daughter Brooke's music career when he engages in a racist rant.

Hogan also threw the N-word around freely during an interview from 2012

Hogan is a professing Christian and closely follows Joel Osteen. He has offered praise to the megachurch pastor on his Twitter account in the past.

"Joel Osteen always has God's perfect words to help you have a perfect vibrational match with God's universe," said Hogan on Twitter in 2012. "Much love."

"I now realize I had to go through all this stuff to be who I am today, to make me who I am today," . "And then I realized all that stuff — the peace, love, the joy, that still, small voice, the energy, that God presence — is part of who I'm meant to be." Hogan said to Winfrey.

The wrestler told Opray Winfrey that after his reality series "Hogan Knows Best" was canceled, he hit rock bottom. He fell into a deep depression and tried to address it with alcohol abuse, until he eventually turned to God with the help of his second wife, Jennifer McDaniel.
