This in no small way met with a lot of frustrations and disappointments, until I finally got tired and said God, concerning this matter, I will no longer worry myself, I live you to help me figure it out as your child.
So I enrolled into the WOFBI (Word of Faith Bible Institute) for my LDC (Leadership Diploma Course) April special 2010 at LFC durumi, about a month to my 25th birthday. And one of the questions on my mind to God was, when am I getting married? And what kind of Man do I marry?
I needed God to answer me on these two questions because, I always lacked what to tell people when they asked me when are you getting married? Your mates have all gotten married o, e.t.c.
So one early morning, while I was walking down to living faith church durumi, venue for my WOFBI classes, I saw number 28 written in my spirit, it was so glaring as if I was seeing it physically written in front of me in the atmosphere,😇 immediately I knew within me, I had gotten the first answer to my question, which was that I was going to get married at 28years which will be in 2013. And in the cause of the program remaining days, I knew I was to get married to a Minister of the Gospel.
Beginning of another journey of faith, so since I already now know the kind of person to marry, I started creating opportunity to be located, you can call it strategically positioning 😜. I also didn't want an old man, so my positioning was amongst the Youths, I was active in the decorating unit, since I was going to be a Minister's wife.
This continued for about 2years, and guess what? No brother even whispered how far with marriage? Not to even talk of having a date. I kept going for Shiloh (Shiloh is an annual church program of Living Faith Church). Before Shiloh 2012, I reminded God 2013 was going to be the following year o, and no man have spoken o, I didn't even have any relationship whatsoever, what are you saying Lord😩? I started saying back his words to him that didn't he say none shall want her mate? (Isaiah 34:16 Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them).
And that he setteth the lonely in families? (Psalms 68:6 God places the lonely in families; he sets the prisoners free and gives them joy. But for rebels, there is only famine and distress). Abi God was it not make and female you created them in the beginning? I began to pray- Father let there be incidences and coincidences that will bring my life partner to me, let the wind of God blow us together 🤩
Then God now said my daughter, bring me a sacrifice, I said when, ok God what do I give now o, so I received in my spirit that I should make a financial sacrifice of N100,000 to be paid during Shiloh 2012.
Since Shiloh usually holds every December, I saved throughout the year 2012 and went with the same amount to CanaanLand, during the program, I attended the 3 marital breakthrough classes conducted by Bishop Thomas Aremu, where he anointed us with the oil of Favour and said, we will not just get one, we will have at least 3 to choose from 😅, saying it takes favour to find and be found, after that I dropped my Shiloh sacrifice on the last day of Shiloh morning which is the impartation service and I tied my sacrifice to my marital breakthrough 😇, with 1&2march 2013 as the due date.
So January passed, nothing 😲, February came, nothing 😩, then March during an all night program (One Night With the King) Bishop David Oyedepo said, all the singles believing God for a life partner this year should dance to front of the Alter, 😲 I scared, several thoughts flew in my head, what will people think about me, won't they say eyaa this one no see person marry her, or see as this one dey despirate, infact where I was, my feet were wobbling 😂.
But contrary to my thoughts and feelings, I came out and Bishop prayed for us and declared, it will be fast, and it won't be anyhow, he said, all Youths must be present at thw Easter YouthAlive Convention, at the end of the same month of March. Little did I know my husband to be also came out as well 😜.
To cut long story short, that same month at the Easter YouthAlive Convention, I met my husband, funny enough, a night to the day we met, I was feeling depressed, so I took my bags and left the YouthAlive camp (LFC Lokoja), but the following morning, something told me to go back to the camp, besides am not doing anything at home right now, so I got up, prepared and went to the program. It was during the meeting, I was told by one of the excos that I will be coordinating the inter-platoons debate that afternoon, so I said fine, good reason to remain in camp for the whole day.
How it Happened 💖
There 8 platoons, divided into 2groups of 4each, 2 winners from each group, contested to pick the overall winner , and he (my husband) represented his platoon, he won at his group level and won overall to be representing the state team. He looked so very young, so I was like probably he was a student, perhaps 100level, but somehow something just made me ask him, where are you working, (expecting to hear oh am still in school, a student of so & so) but to my surprise, he mentioned he works in Ajaokuta, first of all, I thought he was a student, and now not just that, he was working where elderly people work, na so I just close mouth, he now asked what about me, I said oh, I work for an NGO.
That was how we started talking and talking o, we will seat back after church and be talking for hours, infact within 5days, he said make we marry, and I said Ok, we met March 20th, and by 4th April he proposed, we immediately started planning wedding, by June 29th, we did introduction, and by August 31st, we were gloriously married. Very fast (sharp, sharp), and it wasn't anyhow, according to the word of God from his servant Bishop David Oyedepo.
LESSONS
1.Be born again.
2.Have faith in God and quit trying to figure it out by yourself.
3.Submit to a spiritual leadership and obey instructions as they come.
